About Me

I’ve always been interested in stories and the people behind them. Photography was my starting point, but over the years I’ve found myself telling stories through whatever medium suits the project: a photograph, a film, a written piece, or a combination of all three.

I’m particularly interested in work that has a sense of place and personality. That might mean photographing a musician in the middle of a performance, capturing the atmosphere of a restaurant, making portraits for a creative brand, or spending a day getting to know the people behind a project.

Before becoming a photographer, I spent more than a decade working professionally as a percussionist with orchestras across Europe and the US. It’s an unusual route into photography, but it has given me a pretty good understanding of musicians, performers and the creative worlds they inhabit. It also taught me to be calm when things go wrong, which turns out to be a surprisingly useful skill on a shoot.

I’ve been working professionally in photography and video for more than ten years, across commercial, editorial and personal projects. I enjoy working collaboratively, I’m organised when it matters, and I’m happiest when a project gives me enough room to find something unexpected.
